1. What is Fashion?


  • The currently accepted prevailing style.
  • A popular style of clothes, hairs and accessories.



 Exercise: What is current fashion, that you notice?


2. What is Style?


  • A characteristic or distinctive sort of dress that exists independent of fashion
  • Each person develops their own over time.


Exercise: What is your own style? Think that, will your style change into fashion?

Difference Between Fashion And Style
Fashion:

  1. It is a trend and this trend change from time to time. 
  2. It is generic.     
  3. It is temporary.  
  4. It is not a creation of individuals. 
  5. Fashion doesn’t depend on Style.
  6. It depends on clothing and accessories. 
  7. It is adapting to what is in at the moment.  
  8. You must put importance on Fashion Magazines, News, Fashion shows etc. You must know yourself inside and outside. This includes your body type and which colors look the most flattering on you.
  9. It is more common. 
  10. It is the relationship to the external.

Style:

  1. It is a personal adaptation of fashion.
  2. It is individualistic.
  3. It is permanent and timeless.
  4. It is a creation of individuals.
  5. Style depends on Fashion.
  6. It doesn’t depend on clothing and accessories and can be associated with anything that makes individuals look stylish.
  7. It is something that is one’s own creation.
  8. It is less common.
  9. It is the relationship to the internal.
3. What is Classic Fashion?

  • A fashion that retains general acceptance over a really extended period of your time.

4. What is Fad Fashion?


  • A fashion with a sudden burst of popularity



Exercise: What fads does one notice this year at school?


5. What is Design?

  • Refers to a specific version of a style



6. What is Trend?


  • The movement of a fashion into and thru the marketplace.
  • How long a fashion remains popular.
